State Bank of India distributes 20 bicycles to girl students in Tzurangkong, Mokokchung, under its CSR initiative 'Empowering Education'.

MOKOKCHUNG — Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung Ajit Kumar Verma handed over bicycles to girl students at the office of the Border Magistrate, Tzurangkong, Merangmen, in Mokokchung district on Wednesday.
The initiative, titled “Pedalling towards a brighter future”, is being implemented by the Mokokchung district administration as part of the State Bank of India’s (SBI) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project “Empowering education”.
During the event, 20 bicycles were handed over to 20 girl students from Government High School (GHS) Tzurangkong. The selection criteria considered factors such as the distance between home and school, academic performance in the previous examination, and other relevant aspects.

This initiative was made possible through the efforts of the deputy commissioner, who coordinated with the assistant general manager (CSR) and regional manager of SBI’s Regional Business Office, Mokokchung, with the aim of promoting education in the remote areas of the district.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the deputy commissioner for prioritising the educational needs of students from this remote and underdeveloped region of Mokokchung district.
