Dimapur, August 24 (EMN): The second biannual meeting of Dimapur TOLIC (Town Official Language Implementation Committee) was held at ARTC&S, Dimapur, under the chairmanship of Brig Gurjap Singh, Commandant ARTC&S, on August 22.
Altogether 35 members of Central government offices in Dimapur attended the meeting. Col Anil Yadav, Officiating Secretary TOLIC, delivered the welcome address, while Naib Subedar (Hindi Translator) Deshraj of ARTC&S conducted the meeting.
Representatives from TOLIC member offices presented inputs on progressive use of the official language in their respective offices. Assessing the progress regarding implementation of Hindi in central government offices in Dimapur, Brig Gurjap Singh stressed on the importance of progressive use of Hindi and exhorted all members to implement the policies issued by the Government of India regarding publicity and implementation of the official language policy. He also emphasised that Hindi should be implemented in all central government offices. He further urged all TOLIC members to attend the meeting to enhance the utility of TOLIC meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Naib Subedar (Hindi Translator) Deshraj, applauded the efforts of the members of TOLIC Dimapur for wide publicity of the official language. He also highlighted on the importance of the progressive use of Hindi in central government offices and requested all the members to implement all Hindi incentive schemes introduced by the Government of India in their respective offices.
Badri Yadav, Research Officer (Implementation), Department of Official language, Regional Implementation Office (North East Region), also attended the meeting as representative of Ministry of Home Affairs. He emphasised on the need of imparting training for office staff so that they can start work in Hindi. He further added that all offices must submit their report on line to Official Language Department for speedy uploading of reports.
