
Dimapur, March 2 (EMN): The 34th annual sports week of Baptist Higher Secondary School (BHSS), Tseminyu commenced on Wednesday and will culminate on March 4.
KegwayhunTep, president of NSF, attended the inaugural ceremony as the special guest, a press release informed.
Speaking at the event, Tep congratulated the teaching faculty of the school for taking up the challenge and for their determination to serve the community by serving the students.
Lauding the teaching faculty and the administrators of the school, he observed that BHSS has been imparting quality education to its students and produced a topper in HSLC examination 2019.
He exuded confidence that BHSS will be able to equip its students to enable them to stand on their own feet without depending on others. Tep also asserted that, “students are the assets of the community and if all students become responsible in their own way, then we can make a better society.”
Speaking on the issue of unemployment, he said that job opportunity in the government sector is already over saturated and one must follow the heart and choose to take up any profession where one can excel at.
Further, he exhorted the students to come out of their comfort zone, do away with mobile games and go out in the playgrounds and engage in physical sports in order to maintain both physical and mental fitness.
The program proceeded with the unfurling of flag followed by the school anthem, which was led by the ECP. Inspection of contingents and March past was also held during the formal session of the program.
Athong Khing, pastor of Tseminyu Town Baptist Church, said a prayer for the success of the event.
