DIMAPUR — Bhandari sub-division held its monthly SDPDB meeting at the conference hall of Summer House-cum-Guest House, Bhandari, Wokha district, on October 16.
According to a DIPR report, SDO Bhandari, Arhomo Yanthan, chaired the meeting, reviewing the previous DPDB meeting minutes. Elithung Ovung, SDO PWD (R&B), Bhandari sub-division, reported that three bridges on the Nagaland Foothill Road had been completed, with two more under construction.
The committee discussed upgrading Baghty sub-treasury to serve as the financial hub for Bhandari division, enabling government departments to conduct transactions with drawing and disbursing officers (DDOs). The chairperson requested departments to submit representations to their respective heads for further action.

Dr. Kikali G Sumi, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS) Quarantine Check Post, Merapani, reported that the suspected African Swine Fever (AFS) outbreak, first reported in August 2025, has been brought under control with no new cases reported.
She requested the district administration to lift the ban, while urging the public to remain vigilant and report any symptoms promptly to the authorities.
