Dimapur, May 3 (EMN): Bhandari in Wokha district is ‘growing’ and ‘out of ‘size’ that is affecting requirement for extension work, an administrator of the area has said.
The monthly departmental meeting of Bhandari subdivision was held on May 2 in the additional deputy commissioner’s conference hall. A press release from the department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) offered updates on Thursday about the meeting.
The additional deputy commissioner of Bhandari, Tiameren Chang said that Bhandari town had ‘grown out of size.’ The town is in need of area extension work in order to accommodate broader developmental activities, it was informed.
Chang also reminded the officers that both the government and the public expect their services to be for growth and development of the society. He added that there should not be laxity in running their office for the people.
It was informed that the meeting resolved to earmark land of the Forest department and to hold a plantation drive on World Environment Day on June 5 at Nogayim village. The members also decided to have a Welfare Corpus Fund that would be used for a good cause whenever necessary.
Also, according to the updates, members of the departments of Electrical, and Public Health Engineering are also said to have talked about aspects of performance, revenues, and requirements for enhanced functioning of their departments.
