
Dimapur, May 14 (EMN): Anticipating more Covid cases in the coming days, the Bhandari block task force has resolved to earmark Amnesty Centre near Bhandari village, BM Rest House at Merapani (Marachü) and Eloe Hoho office building at Bhandari as Covid Care Centre besides the existing five bedded centre which was already established at CHC Bhandari.
The resolution to this effect was taken during an emergency meeting of the Bhandari block task force on Covid-19 held in the conference hall of the additional deputy commissioner’s office on May 13. According to a DIPR report, the meeting was held to step up measures to contain the pandemic at the inter-state borders.
The meeting, chaired by ADC and chairman of BTF, Bhandari, Tiameren Chang, reviewed the strength of delivering Covid-19 services to the public and also its preparedness in the face of the present surge of the Covid-19 pandemic. It stated that the SDO (C) Bhandari, Sulanthung Lotha, was entrusted to verify feasibility of the buildings for setting up the Covid Care Centres.
The house also discussed on conducting random testing for Covid-19 at Bhandari and Merapani village (Marachü Yan). The house decided that shopkeepers would be tested first after completion of contact tracing by competent medical teams, who would be provided mobile vehicle for sample collection.
It was also decided that the police, dobashis and students' body would volunteer to assist the medical team for smooth conduct of random test drive. They would also monitor to ensure strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs as ordered by the government.
