MINISTER of Agriculture & Chairman NSAMB, Dr. Benjongliba Aier felicitated the best performing NPF units under the 30th Alongtaki A/C during the recently held 16th Lok Sabha election at Lirmen village on June 16.
The function was chaired by Monglo, president 30th Alongtaki A/C and attended by various village council members and NPF party leaders from the constituency.
Out of the 35 constituent units under the constituency, six NPF units which have solidly voted for Neiphiu Rio without casting a single vote to the opposition candidates were given attractive cash awards. The constituent NPF units which received the awards were Lirmen unit, Akumen unit, Japu unit, Yajang ‘B’ unit, Longjemdang unit and Aokum unit.
In his address, Dr. Aier conveyed his gratitude to all the best performing units for reposing their faith on NPF by solidly supporting the consensus DAN candidate Rio. He also thanked all the constituent units of the constituency for the full support. It may be noted that about 95% of the electorate voted in favour of Rio. The minister further said that better days are ahead for the people under the dynamic leadership of T.R. Zeliang as the DAN government is an ally of the NDA government at the centre.
During the function, the Village Council members and the party leaders expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang and NPF president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu for elevating Dr. Benjongliba to the rank of the cabinet minister.
Earlier, Dr. Aier visited the undergoing foothill road construction, interstate connectivity road and agri link roads under his constituency. He was accompanied by departmental officials and party officials.
