Diphu, Oct. 10 (EMN): The final match of the 1st Inter-Churches Knock Out Football Tournament was played between Believers Church (BC) and Rongmili Evangelical Baptist Church Convention (EBCC) at Christian English High School (CEHS) playground here on Tuesday.
It was a high voltage match as both the team could only score one goal each in full time. Welson Timung of Believers Church opened the account for his team in the 4th minute of the first half. The first-half ended 1-0 in favour of Believers Church.
The second half saw David of EBCC scoring in the 15th minute to equalise for his team and make it 1-1. The game ended 1-1 till the final whistle and had to be decided through a tie breaker. Believers Church beat EBCC 3-1 in the tiebreaker and lifted the 1st inter-churches knock out football tournament. Richard Tokbi, MAC graced the final match as the chief guest.
The tournament was organised by Diphu Baptist Church Youth Ministry (DBCYM).
