DIPHU — Despite
several news reports and broadcasts highlighting the recurring bee attacks in
Bogarighat under Kheroni PS jurisdiction, the Forest department and local
authority of West Karbi Anglong are yet to take any initiative to address the
menace, raising concerns among the local residents.
The latest victim of the attacks is Binod Chauhan, a
resident of Bogarighat village, who was severely stung by bees while returning
home. Four days after the incident, Chauhan’s face remains swollen, and his
condition has further amplified the locals' demand for immediate action from
the authorities.
Residents expressed their frustration over the Forest
department's inaction, urging the department to take swift measures to mitigate
the threat posed by the aggressive bees. Many have also called for awareness
programmes and safety measures to prevent further incidents.
With the health and safety of the villagers at stake, locals
are now hoping that the Forest department will address the bee menace without
further delay.
