Seeking for a woman who is a beautiful blend of beyond beauty, a group of likeminded youth from various professions have come under one umbrella to shoulder the responsibility of crowning Miss Phom 2017 this September with the theme “Beauty to inspire”. This was stated in a press note issued by Hongba Phom, Convenor of Miss Phom 2017.
The coveted pageant “Miss Phom” which is said to have been conceptualised by Yingla Welfare Society (Longleng district based NGO) in the year 2006 has been instrumental in re-inventing the definition of beauty and intelligence, and setting new landmark each year for young girls.
The release further mentions that with lapse of a year, a new organising committee (In collaboration with Yingla Welfare Society) of ‘Miss Phom 2017’ has been formed. A group of nine member team –Tali Angh (Singer-songwriter), Pauloi Phom (Singer-songwriter), Hongba Phom (Fingerprint), Amos Phom (Fingerprint), Mongsen Phom (Photographer), Mandok Phom (Businessman), Lachong Phom (First Miss Phom), Doichong Phom (Designer) and Henlly Phom (Journalist /Former Miss Longleng) along with Fingerprint Nagaland is said to have come together with an aim to provide opportunity to young girls through this prominent platform while refining the girls to uncover their unique quality as a woman.
The coveted pageant which is scheduled to take place on September 29, 2017 at Longleng invites applicants who are unmarried bona fide Phom citizen who are between the age group of 18 years to 25 years with a minimum height of 5’4.
The application form for the contest is said to be available at Fingerprint Office (Opp. Local ground) Longleng town and Fingerprint Office Duncan Basti Dimapur from August 1 onwards with the last date of entries on September 5, 2017.
The contestants will be groomed for five days (September 20 to 24) in Dimapur by professionals before the main event, stated the release. Apart from the three winners’, subtitle winners in various categories including Best Viewer’s choice (Online) will be awarded during the event.
