KOHIMA, JUNE 26 — ‘Beat of Glory,’ the Inter-Church battle of bands concluded successfully at the State Academy Hall in Kohima on Friday.
An update issued on Friday informed that a total of 11 church bands took part in the celebration of faith, music, and talent.
Organised on the theme ‘worship through music’, the competition required each participating band to perform the common song God's Design (BOW) along with one original composition.
After a closely contested competition, El Gibor from Nepali Baptist Church Kohima emerged as the overall champion, taking home a cash prize of INR 70,000.
The Most Promising Band award went to DCY from Yimkhiung Baptist Borü Kohima, and received a cash prize of INR 30,000.
Individual excellence awards were also presented to outstanding musicians. Imkong of Affinity (Naya Jeevan Baptist Church) was named Best Keyboardist, Danrito of DCY (YBBK) received the Best Drummer award, Novin Gurung of Nepali Baptist Church Kohima was adjudged Best Bassist, Akhum of DCY (YBBK) won Best Guitarist, while Kiukhum of The Ablaze (YBBC) was awarded as the Best Vocalist.
Faith Band performed as the guest band.
