BCTE welcomes new batch of teaching-trainees

Dimapur, Aug. 10 (EMN): Bosco College of Teacher Education (BCTE) Dimapur, held its New Academic Year programme cum freshers’ day on Aug. 10 with Dr. Fr. Sunny Joseph, rector of Good Shepherd Seminary (GSS), Dimapur as chief guest and Fr. Vengakunnel Thomas, Rector of Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE), Dimapur as the guest of honour. In all 100 new teaching-trainees were accorded warm welcome to BCTE, Dimapur. BCTE Principal Dr.Fr. Joseph Thuruthel welcomed the gathering. Saying that learning is a life-long process, he said the moment a teacher stops learning he or she should forthwith stop his / her teaching career. Fr. Joseph in his address urged that teachers should creatively create an atmosphere of love and humour enabling the students to learn more joyfully. The guest of honour underlined the fact that the teacher-trainees should obtain, not only the B.Ed degree but also should strive to attain the B.U. degree (Bachelor of Understanding the students and their needs/difficulties) if they really want to help the students. The newly instated vice principal of BCTE, Dr. Fr. Nicholas R Guangdiat referred to the motto of BCTE “Exemplo Docemus (We teach by example) and reminded the teacher-trainees that teachers teach more by their example than their words.
