Dimapur, August 14 (EMN): In the light of the ultimatum issued by the NPF Youth Wing, 10 Northern Angami-I AC against the setting up of temporary NPF office at Hotel Legacy, Bayavu Hill colony, the Bayavu Area Panchayat while expressing its serious concern on the issue and considering the serious threat it is posing on the peace and tranquillity in the colony, appealed to both sides to resolve their issues and differences without disturbing the peaceful environment in the colony in the best interest of the public and common good.
In a press release, the area panchayat chairman, Khinyi Woch and secretary, Kechangulie Kense, stated that the ongoing strife between the two groups is not only creating tension and fear psychosis to denizens of the colony but also disturbing the peaceful environment in the colony.
For the concern of public safety and welfare, BAP appealed to both the groups to restrain from violence and extremism but rather resolve their differences through reasonable understanding and peaceful means. “May good sense and understanding prevail in the best interest of the society” the BAP added.
Meanwhile, drawing the attention of tense atmosphere in Kohima that has been created due to internal strife within the Naga People’s Front (NPF), the Angami Public Organisation (APO) through its press release appended by secretary, Keviselie Lhousa and advisor, Keneingunyü Sekhose, have appealed to both sides of the ‘NPF divide’ to settle their internal differences through peaceful means without jeopardising public peace.
The APO also expressed hope that good sense will prevail and that peace and tranquillity will be maintained.
