• BOTSA — The 40th annual sports meet of Baptist School Botsa began on Wednesday, with Sheta Lohe, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) North Kohima, attending as the special guest. The event, aimed at promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline, saw enthusiastic participation from students.

• Addressing the gathering, Lohe emphasised the importance of sports in personal development, stating that it helps students discover and hone their talents while teaching valuable lessons in discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. He urged students to embrace excellence, highlighting that hard work and determination are key to achieving success.

• “When you embrace excellence, greatness comes along with it,” he said.

Encouraging students to participate actively in sports, the police officer reminded them that competition is not just about winning or losing but also about building friendships and creating lifelong memories. He commended Baptist School Botsa’s legacy of resilience, hard work, and a passion for learning, urging students to remain committed to their goals.

• The welcome address was delivered by Thejakhrienuo Nakhro, Headmistress of Baptist School Botsa, who noted that sports teach valuable life lessons that extend beyond the field. The event featured a march past by Blue, Green, and Yellow Houses, followed by performances including Que Sera and Waving Flag by students, along with a drill display. Thejaneizo Thevo, Games and Sports Secretary, administered the oath for the participants.
