Bankura records 43.4 degree Celsius

Kolkata, April 2 (PTI): The western districts of West Bengal sizzled under heatwave conditions on Sunday, while the rest of the state experienced normal day temperatures. Bankura recorded the day’s highest temperature in the state at 43.4 degrees Celsius, six notches above normal, the Met department said here. At Asansol in Burdwan district, the day’s highest temperature was recorded at 41 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. High day temperatures are likely to continue in the western districts of Bankura, Purulia, Burdwan and West Midnapore.
