Diphu, June 1 (EMN): Banks across the nation reopened today after the two-day strike called by the United Forum of bank Union.
The protest was against the revision of wage.
The Diphu SBI located at Lumding road witnessed a hectic day when the customers after the days strike were seen queued for transactions.
In around Diphu town there are more than 15 ATMs including the commercial bank ATMs, during the two days strike cash were seen unavailable in every ATMs.
One of the customer informed Eastern Mirror Correspondent that he had visited almost all the ATMs but were all out of cash. Hence, he had no other option but to stand in queue at the main SBI office.
When asking about the exhaustion of cash in the ATMs, a bank official informed that it was because of some technical errors. Also, he informed that there are around 12 SBI ATMs in Diphu town area alone and few other commercial banks ATM.
