Nagaland University holds interactive session with Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh Zikrul Hasan Fahad.

DIMAPUR — An interactive session between the faculty members of the School of Engineering & Technology (SET), Nagaland University (NU), Kohima campus, and Zikrul Hasan Fahad, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Guwahati, was held on October 12 at the seminar hall, SET–NU, Kohima.
In his welcome address, Prof. N Venuh, Pro Vice-Chancellor of NU Kohima campus, reiterated the university’s commitment to advancing international academic partnerships.
He emphasised the importance of cross-border collaboration in science, engineering, and technology to address shared developmental and environmental challenges in the region.
Prof. Sujata Dash, Dean of SET, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the SET’s departments, ongoing research projects, and academic initiatives.

Prof. Dash highlighted potential areas for collaboration between Nagaland University and Bangladeshi universities, including joint research projects on sustainable engineering, renewable energy, and environmental management; student and faculty exchange programmes for mutual learning and skill-building; and internship opportunities for cross-cultural industry experience.
He also stressed on collaborative master’s programme in disaster management, focusing on climate resilience and sustainable development, and workshops and technical seminars to promote innovation and cultural exchange.
During the interaction, Fahad expressed appreciation for Nagaland University’s proactive approach and extended his support for establishing academic linkages with leading Bangladeshi universities.
Prof. Nigamananda Das, from the Department of English, shared that international students from Bangladesh are already pursuing higher studies and research at Nagaland University, underscoring the institution’s growing global engagement and welcoming academic environment.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Prabhakar Sharma, Head, Dept. of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, who expressed gratitude to the visiting dignitary and faculty members for their valuable contributions and constructive dialogue.
