Dimapur, May 13 (EMN): Business Association of Nagas (BAN) has appreciated the initiative of the Taxes Department for taking a pro active part in enforcing the GST in the most effective manner in order to establish a level playing ground for all the business houses in Nagaland.
BAN, in press release issued through its Media Cell, said the business community of Dimapur and Nagaland in general has been apprehensive about the newly introduced Goods and Services Tax (GST), an upcoming system of comprehensive indirect tax on manufacture, sale and consumption of goods and services throughout India. It also stated that the business community, over the years, had been ignorant about all the small details about taxation system because of lack of educative seminar. It has appreciated the Department of Taxes for taking upon the task to educate and spread the working system of GST to all the business community of Nagaland. During the course of the training and interaction session, BAN chairman expressed wish for better Nagaland in terms of infrastructural development in return of a more generation of revenue like any other states.
It hoped that such kind of healthy meetings would bridge the gap and apprehensions between the department and the business community. Further, BAN has thanked the Commissioner of Taxes, Asangba Chuba, for conducting one-day GST awareness seminar for the BAN members.
