Dimapur, Oct. 4 (EMN): The Boxing Association Mokokchung (BAM) earlier called as Mokokchung Boxing Association (MBA), formally adopted its constitution and nominated office bearers for the tenure 2019-22 at a general meeting held at its treasurer residence, Yimyu Ward on October 3. In an update issued by the information and publicity secretary of BAM on Friday, the new team will be headed by Imkummeren Jamir as president, Rongsentoshi Jamir as vice-president, Aolong Imchen as general secretary, Bendangtemsu Ozukum as assistant general secretary and Merang Longkumer as the treasurer. The house also thoroughly scrutinised and adopted the association’s constitution which was presented by the constitution drafting committee. The meticulous constitution deals with every aspect about the aspirations and the functions of the association. It adopted ‘Primum Honoren’ (Honor first in Latin) as its motto and declared, among many others, to encourage boxing as a sport in the district and also promote the state boxers in the national and international levels. During the meeting, a two point resolution was also adopted wherein the association, in consonance with the aims enshrined in the newly adopted constitution, resolved to conduct a talent hunt to identify young talented boxers in the district. It also resolved to aspire and promote boxing in the district and beyond through proper coordination with the different sports and other government agencies. BAM was earlier known by the nomenclature MBA which was officially formed in 2015.
