Dimapur, Aug.6 (EMN): A joint inspection team led by District Food Safety Officer conducted an inspection in all the major bakeries in Tuensang town on Aug. 6 and found the functioning of the unsatisfactory and unhygienic. The bakeries were directed to improve their operations immediately.
A press release received here from the CMO, Dr. T. Pangjung Sangtam - who is also the District Food Safety Officer - informed that the team inspected the Onima Bakery, Maa Kali Bakery, Tuensang Bakery and Delu Bakery.
The team found that the premises and kitchen of all the bakeries were not up to satisfaction, especially with regard to hygiene and ‘cleanliness of the staffs and environment’. It was also found that the supply of clean water was inadequate.
The team also discovered the use of expired food ingredients, and preservatives and were duly seized and disposed off. Therefore, all bakery owners were issued with an‘immediate improvement notice’. The release informed that such inspections will continue.
