Bailey Baptist College observes foundation day

Dimapur, July 15 (EMN): Bailey Baptist College, Wokha, today commemorated its 21st foundation day cum fresher’s meet with the SDO (Civil), Wokha, T Lanusenla Longkumer, as the guest of honour. The guest of honour, in her speech, encouraged the students to pursue quality education to become leaders and responsible citizens in the society. She said education is not only reading and writing but also the ability of realising and understanding of our behaviour. She also warned against manipulation of social media thereby giving way to traditional way of learning and reading books. She further advised educated citizens to be more responsible in using social media and respect one another by not losing focus in real world. The first session marked the 21st foundation day with hosting of college flag by guest of honour in the absence of chief guest, Dr. TM Lotha, Advisor of Treasuries & Accounts, Labour & Employment and skill Development, Relief & Rehabilitation. Invocation was said by Rev, Sulumo Ezung, Pastor of WTBC, while the keynote was addressed by Dr. KC Murry, principal BBC. A special number was presented by Miss Oreno Ngullie, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, while a folk song by presented Class XII students and a musical piece by Yanpothung Ezung, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology. Speeches were delivered by Chonchithung Emungrui, president of Students' Council, and Susan Murry on behalf of the freshers. Programme was compered by T Penthungo Lotha and Achumbeni Mozhui. In the second session, Ms Susan Murry and Tsuktimeren were declared Miss and Mr freshers.
