Friday for Dimapur police was all about counterfeit currency and a cache of drugs. Authorities of Dimapur police said on Friday that they have arrested two persons in connection with said charges. In a separate, the dead body of an unidentified person has been found.
The police issued a press release on November 20.
Fake currency
On November 18, personnel of Dimapur Police under Zone-I arrested a person identified as Changlu Zeliang of Samjiuram village under Jalukie, Peren on charges of possessing counterfeit currency.
“Fake Indian currency note with a face value of 55,000 consisting of 49 notes of 1000 denomination and twelve notes of 500 denomination was seized from his possession. The arrest was made from the Blue Hill Station, Dimapur,” the police said.“Investigation to ascertain the source and others involved is under progress,” the police said.
Drugs seized
Also on November 18, Dimapur Police arrested a woman identified as one Tsunong Yimchunger on charges of possessing banned drugs. The authorities found in her possession 1,354 capsules of spasmo proxyvon and 20 tablets of Nitrosun, the press release stated. Accordingly, “investigation for charges under the Drugs & Cosmetic Act is underway at the West Police Station.”
Unidentified dead body found
A Authorities have informed that a dead body of an unidentified person has been found. On November 20, a dead body of a non-Naga male was found near Vidima village in Dimapur, the press release from the police said.
“The deceased is suspected to be murdered as the body bore injuries caused by blunt weapons. The deceased is aged around 35-40 yrs and was found wearing jean quarter pant, black T-shirt and a black-brown stripped shirt,” the press release read.
“The dead body is unidentified and kept at the morgue of the District Hospital. For more details, the Diphupar police station may be contacted,” Dimapur police said.
