DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 8 : The All Nagaland Social Welfare Field Staff Employee Association (ANSWFSEA) has called for intervention from Governor PB Acharya on matters of illegal / ‘backdoor’ appointments allegedly made by the state’s department of Social Welfare.
According to the ANSWFSEA, the department has appointed 3 Child Development Project officers (CDPOs) “on contract / backdoor flouting every service rule” and placed them before the state cabinet, seeking approval to regularise their appointments.
“Although there are only 60 sanctioned ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) Projects in Nagaland, presently there are 63 CDPOs in the department and despite of (sic) objection by the association over those unsanctioned posts of CDPO who are appointed on contract / backdoor flouting every service rule, the department had somehow placed those CDPOs for regularisation seeking cabinet approval,” the association stated in an “open letter” to the governor.
It “implored” the governor to initiate “prompt and necessary enquiry into the matter.”
