Kohima, Dec. 19: Following the expiry of its 10-day ultimatum to the State Government to revoke backdoor appointments made after June 6 this year, the NSF has, to register its resentment on the failure of the Government to address issue, called for a sit-in protest at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat from December 21. Informing this in a release on Monday, the NSF has appealed to all the ‘right thinking citizens’ to extend support and solidarity to the proposed sit-in protest which will begin from 10 am onwards on December 21.
The NSF had issued a representation to the Chief Secretary on December 7, alleging that the State Government has made 72 backdoor appointments in eight departments “as against to the Office Memorandum issued through the department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Administrative Reforms Branch) vide No. AR-5/ASS0/98 dated 6th June 2016”. It demanded that the State Government immediately revoke those backdoor appointments within 10 days of submission of the representation.
“The Federation in its effort to deliver justice to the qualified and deserving aspiring candidates strongly demands for requisition of the posts for an open competition through Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) and departmental examinations etc. and failing to comply with the demands, the Federation shall resort to its own course of action,” the NSF had warned.
