Dimapur, Feb. 13 (EMN): The Khaghaboto Area Students’ Union has arranged volunteers having B.Sc degrees to teach students of a government school in Khaghaboto that is said to be without mathematics and science teachers. The union issued a press release to the media on Wednesday demanding teachers for said subjects.
The press release read: ‘The union had earlier on 31/10/18 issued a press release citing the non-availability (sic) of mathematics and science teacher in the government high school of Khaghaboto. However, so far, there has been no positive response from the (School Education) department. It may be recalled that the examination for class-8 and class-9 was conducted with just one mathematics teacher who has already retired on January, 2019.’
Given the situation, the union stated, “where the future of the students is at stake, the union have arranged volunteers with B.Sc degree from among its members to teach the students till the appointment is made by the department.”
The School Education Department is ‘strongly reminded’ that the students of the school will be writing for their HSLC examinations without mathematics and science teachers.
‘The union has instructed the students appearing the exam as well as the present class-10 batch to wear black ribbons as a mark of resentment against the School Education department,’ the note added.
