Nand Kishore Yadav praised the Integrated AYUSH Hospital at Chedema for its healthcare services.

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav on Friday lauded the healthcare professionals of the Integrated AYUSH Hospital at Chedema, Kohima district, for their dedication to providing quality healthcare services and urged them to continue strengthening integrated, patient-centric healthcare across the state.
During a visit to the hospital, the governor reviewed its functioning and interacted with doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and officials, an update from PRO Lok Bhavan, Kohima, stated.
Addressing the gathering, Yadav appreciated the commitment of the hospital team in making the institution a centre of healing and hope for the people of Nagaland.
He said India's traditional systems of medicine complement modern healthcare by promoting preventive care, holistic wellness and healthy living.
He observed that with increasing awareness of integrative healthcare, institutions such as the Integrated AYUSH Hospital have an important role in delivering accessible, affordable and patient-centric healthcare services.
The governor said the review meeting provided an opportunity to assess the hospital's achievements, understand the challenges it faces, and deliberate on measures to further strengthen its infrastructure, services and public outreach.
He encouraged all stakeholders to continue working with dedication, innovation and compassion so that the institution evolves into a model of excellence in integrated healthcare.
Congratulating the doctors, healthcare workers and staff for their commendable service, Yadav conveyed his best wishes for the hospital's continued success in improving the health and well-being of the people of Nagaland.
The governor noted that the Integrated AYUSH Hospital, inaugurated on March 4, 2022, is the third such hospital in the country, reflecting the government's commitment to promoting holistic and integrative healthcare.
He also recalled the hospital's significant contribution during the COVID-19 pandemic when it served as Nagaland's first designated COVID-19 hospital.
During the review, hospital officials presented an overview of the 50-bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital at Razha Chedema, about 24 kilometres from Kohima on the Phek–Meluri–Zunheboto road.
Inaugurated on March 4, 2022, by then Union Minister of AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal, the hospital serves eight surrounding villages and is the third Integrated AYUSH Hospital in the country.
Officials informed the governor that the hospital offers Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy and Homoeopathy services through a workforce of 43 staff members.
Since its inception, it has recorded more than 10,050 OPD consultations and treated 560 in-patients up to June 2026.
The hospital provides free ayurveda and homoeopathy medicines, laboratory services at nominal charges, panchakarma therapy, naturopathy treatment, clinical yoga sessions and emergency care, particularly for road traffic accident victims before referral to Naga Hospital Authority Kohima.
Officials also highlighted the hospital's outreach activities, including free health camps, awareness programmes in neighbouring villages, radio talks promoting the AYUSH system of healthcare and observance of major health-related occasions.
They further briefed the governor on its training and academic initiatives, including yoga instructor training programmes, medicinal plant workshops, prakriti assessments for security personnel, educational exposure visits and internship programmes for students.
