Dimapur, Feb. 4: The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has responded to the youth wing of the Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF). Simply stated: ‘Don’t act over smart.’
In reaction to the NPF youth wing’s alleged justification of the decision of the state government as published in the local dailies on the 3rd, the AYO has asked the youth wing to not ‘act over smart.’ The AYO called the NPF’s statement “ridiculous, unfounded and baseless statement devoid of any substance and value.”
The AYO issued a press release on Saturday.“We advise the NPF youth wing not to act over smart and speak beyond their capacity. In substantiation to this, we question, ‘Is it the denial of rights or acceptance of right that have created the present impasse? Our answer is this; it is the denial of the voice of the people which you claim as anarchy and mobocracy the responsible factor behind all the subversive terror that have unfolded in the recent times,” the AYO stated in the press release. “And also be aware that that butchering of human lives is chauvinistic which you so suitably stated. This is our sanity.”
The organisation also noted what it stated was the allegation by the NPF’s youth wing “implying that the tribal bodies were instigated by (Lok Sabha member Neiphiu) Rio or (former Home Minister) Imkong (Imchen) or anybody...”
It holds no substance, the organisation stated. “Such baseless allegation is an insult to our ingenuity and a direct affront to the selfless efforts that are rendered in the interest and welfare of our society. We have got absolutely nothing to do and have no interest with them in this issue,” the Angami youth stated.
The AYO also noted the claims that the NPF-led Democratic Alliance of Nagaland government ‘won’t enact laws or frame policies’ that are detrimental to the Nagas. “We find this statement uniquely preposterous. Unique because the laws and policies enacted and framed in this regard were detrimental to the Naga people for such realization your government nullified the municipal elections,” the AYO remarked, adding, “though late, at least some sense got knocked inside the thick headed arrogant skull for the time being.”
Wondering if the NPF youth wing was drunken “with power intoxicant,” the AYO called the claims that the municipal elections had created chaos and division as “grandly true.” The press release stated that the observation was “quiet (sic) true because rights of the people were absolutely denied and never heeded, free democratic voices were entirely suppressed with constitutional and legal justifications without acknowledging the social and political aspects, blatant abrogation of packs which were made even with the church represented by the Home minister were scraped to the wastebin with no regard and worst of all heinous violations of perpetrating terror against her own people.”
“Yes,” the AYO stated, “it is true. This issue has created chaos by the government.”
