Niuland district administration and DHEW organises awareness programme on juvenile cases and POSCO Act.

DIMAPUR — Under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, the district administration and the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Niuland, in collaboration with the Home department organised an awareness programme on juvenile cases and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act at Government High School (GHS), Zuheshe, on February 11.
In her keynote address, Tsukhumla, UBSI from Women Police Station, Dimapur, shed a light on the significance of the POSCO Act and the handling of juvenile cases, a DIPR report stated.
This was followed by an interactive session where students actively participated, sharing their thoughts and queries on the topic.

The programme aimed to raise awareness among students and community members about the laws protecting children and the consequences of violating them.
Earlier, the programme began with invocation by Merryka Sumi, Accounts Assistant, DHEW, and a short speech highlighting the importance of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiatives by Kelengunuo Solo, EAC Niuland.
V Vily Chophy, DMC DHEW, proposed the vote of thanks.
