Dimapur, Aug. 25 (EMN): District-level centre for women (MSK) and Sakhi-One Stop Centre (OSC), in collaboration with the department of Social Welfare, Peren division, conducted a community awareness programme on Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) at Tening town on August 22.
During the programme, Heiriateilei, women welfare officer, MSK Peren, had highlighted on the various schemes provided by the department of Social Welfare for the development/ empowerment of women.
Also speaking on the occasion, Grace Newmai, counsellor of Sakhi-One Stop Centre, Peren, had highlighted on the rights of women and various other facilities provided to help women. Sidibo, PMMVY program assistant, Peren District Cell, had highlighted on PMMVY scheme and cleared some misconceptions about the scheme.
Yanbeni, CDPO Tening, also highlighted about Poshan Abhiyan and the aims and objectives of the nutrition mission. After highlighting the various schemes, an interactive session was conducted where doubts regarding various schemes were clarified.
A total of 54 participants from various villages under Tening ICDS project took part in the programme. This was stated in a press release issued by Keyizieteing Ndang, PMMVY district coordinator.
