Dimapur, Oct. 15 (EMN): A one-day awareness programme on entrepreneurship was organised by STINER-TFC, Nagaland Centre, NU: SASRD, at Phek town council hall with Welhikhro Mero, EACATOL branch manager, Phek, as the resource person on October 15.
An overview of STINER -- its aims and objectives -- was presented by Andrew Lalthawmliana, project assistant of STINER-TFC, Nagaland Centre. It was with a technical session on ‘Introduction and scope of entrepreneurship,’ ‘Do(s) and Don’t(s) in entrepreneurship’ and ‘Role and importance of entrepreneurs in society uplift,’ led by the resource person. He spoke on the present scenario of jobs in Nagaland where only one out of every eight individuals secure a chance of securing government job.
He encouraged the participants to be risk takers as well as to be positive and creative. He also mentioned about the proper and efficient utilisation of time.
Sharing from his experience, he advised the participants never to give up but choose an enterprise that one is skilled at and to keep learning.
Razoukhruyi Dozo, proprietor of Bamboo Grove Restaurant, and Chetezo Akami, general secretary of PCCI, shared their experiences and gave short motivational talks to the participants.
A total of 59 participants attended the programme including Kelvin Khamo, HEA from the department of horticulture; entrepreneurs from Phek, members of PCCI; youth members from PTYS; SHG members and students from Skill Academy, Phek.
