Dimapur, Sep. 6 (EMN): National Institute for Locomotors Disabilities (DIVYANGJAN), Department of Empowerment of PwDs (DIYANGJAN), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India, Kolkota in collaboration with Care and Support Society, Mokokchung organized an “Identification Camp for PwDs” at Mangkolemba town and at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital, Mokokchung Sep. 4 and 5 respectively. The managing director of care and support society (C and SS), Imchawati Kichu, in a press note informed that the PwDs were given hearing aids, treatments and other aids and appliances for locomotors.
Meanwhile, in a seperate press release, Imchawati Kichu informed that a one-day awareness programme on disability and rehabilitation at Sangtemla community hall on September 4.
During the programme, Dr. Medem, MS, IMDH, delivered the introductory speech and the inaugural speech was delivered by M Chaitanya Prasad, SDO (C). Bendangkokba, district welfare officer, spoke on the facilities available for person with disabilities (PwDs).
Dr. Thejaseivi, ENT specialist at IMDH, shared his views and ideas on PwDs health.
After the inaugural programme, Aratatran Patra, in-charge ORS, NILD, Kolkata, along with his team discussed on facilities such as ADIP scheme, rights of person with disabilities act 2016, government facilities on PwDs, early identification and intervention, therapeutic intervention, prosthetics and orthotics interventions, reaching PwDs through outreach services.
Workers from Anganwadi and ASHA participated in the programme, the release stated.
