Avijit Kro elected as KAAC deputy chairman
Member of Autonomous (MAC) from Chinthong constituency, Avijit Kro, was elected unopposed as deputy chairman of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council

- DIPHU — Member of
Autonomous (MAC) from Chinthong constituency, Avijit Kro, was elected unopposed
as deputy chairman of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), on Monday.
- He is the youngest MAC to hold the deputy chairman post in
the KAAC.
- Kro had submitted his nomination papers on February 21 to
contest the post of deputy chairman, KAAC.
- Surprisingly, Kro was the lone candidate and he was declared
the uncontested winner in the KAAC session hall on Monday.
- Soon after announcing Kro as deputy chairman by KAAC
chairman, Raju Tisso, Kro assumed the office of the deputy chairman.
- MP and Executive Member (EM) of KAAC, Amarsing Tisso, and
other EMs and MACs came forward to extend their congratulations to the
newly-elected deputy chairman.
- Congratulating Kro, the MP called Kro as “courageous and
farsighted.”
- Kro expressed his gratitude to the Chief Executive Member
(CEM) of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang and chairman, Raju Tisso and all MACs for
supporting him. He also thanked the people of Chinthong for their love and
support.
