Dimapur, July 26 (EMN): A one-day orientation programme for familiarisation of airport operations was held at the Dimapur airport facility for the aviation trainees of Keren Sumi Finishing School Dimapur on Friday, July 26.
A press note from the school stated that the training was a distinctive exposure for the trainees who are going through four months aviation training programme to understand the ‘real world of works’. This acquaintance will definitely help the trainees during their interview process and further works, it stated.
During the course of the orientation programme, the trainees were familiarised on concentration of the airport which consists of the core or domestic terminal complex, international terminal complex, the hangar alley, the cargo area, the Airport Maintenance Complex (AMC) and ramp. They were also imparted knowledge on airport that is divided into landslide operations that includes a terminal areas and access roads and airside operations; and the security check points referred to as “Guard Post” that provides access to the airside portion where all air traffic movements take place.
The students were also familiarised and briefed on operating procedures; airport markings; runway designations; segmented circle; wind/active runway indicators; closed runway; displaced threshold; taxiway lines; hold short marking; chevrons; taxiway signs; runway holding position signs; and runway holding position signs.
