Chakhesang organizations have demanded prosecution of a Dimapur police officer who has been charged with killing his wife on May 18 in Dimapur.The Western Chakhesang Mothers' Association and the Chakhesang youth Organization of Diphupar issued separate statements on Wednesday denouncing the crime and demanding prosecution against the accused. In its statement, the Western Chakhesang Mothers' Association condemned the alleged murder of K Lisila by her husband Imti Meren Chang a sub inspector in the police establishment.
“The association is appalled and anguished that a husband, who is suppose to protect his wife and children could commit such a wild and heinous act. This kind of act has no place in our civilized society and should be condemned by all,” the women organization stated in its press release. The organization expressed outrage “at such anabhorrent ferocity committed to Lisila” and urged the authorities to serve befitting punishment to the culprit.
The association has also expressed condolences to the bereaved family members
Likewise, the Chakhesang youth Organization .of Diphupar condemned the alleged murder.
“It was unjustifiable under any circumstances. The killer Imti Meren Chang (sub-inspector, Zuneboto, PS) should be prosecuted and be given befitting punishment according to the rule of law,” the youth organization stated in its statement. The Chakhesang youth organization has asked the authorities in concern ‘not to grant bail to the accused’.
The youth group also expressed condolence to the bereaved family.
