Dimapur, June 9 : Agitating citizens of Peren town can look forward to renewed water supply. The district authorities and Public Health Engineering division of the district have assured that ‘initiative for immediate restoration’ of water supply to the town will commence.
The Public Health Engineering Department, district administration and the Joint Action Committee for Restoring of Water Supply to Peren met on June 8, a handout stating the minutes of the meeting stated on Thursday.
According to the handout, the department has admitted to “some lapses” on the part of the departmental officers “who were posted in Peren at that point of time.”
‘The department has a long-term plan in mitigating the water scarcity of the town. Meanwhile, the department will also initiate for immediate restoration of the damaged pipelines,’ the handout stated.
The authorities have sought cooperation from the citizens in ‘fulfilling the departmental plans and programs for Peren town.’
