Security guards foiled an attempted armed robbery at the SBI Chedema branch in Kohima, recovering the cash and seizing the pistol used in the incident.

DIMAPUR — A daring attempted armed robbery at the State Bank of India (SBI) Chedema branch in Kohima was foiled on Friday afternoon, thanks to the swift action of on-duty security guards.
According to a press release issued by Kohima Police, the incident occurred around 12:30 pm when an unidentified man entered the bank armed with a pistol and reportedly threatened to use a body-worn explosive device while demanding cash.
The security guards on duty acted promptly, recovering the entire looted amount and seizing the pistol from the suspect. However, the individual managed to flee the scene before he could be apprehended.

Kohima Police informed that a case has been registered at the North Police Station, and an investigation is underway to trace and arrest the suspect.
