- DIMAPUR — The
Atoizu Town Council (ATC) in Zunheboto district organised an awareness
programme on sanitation at DBs hall in Atoizu town on Thursday.
- Chairing the programme, ATC member, Vinus Awomi, emphasised
the importance of sanitation and hygiene in public health, while ATC
chairperson, Kitoli Naje, in her keynote address, highlighted the council's
commitment to cleanliness and environmental responsibility.
- A DIPR report stated that the programme began with an
invocation prayer said by Khevikali, youth pastor of Atoizu Town Baptist Church
(SBAK Nito Mount).
- Short speeches were delivered by Nukutulu S Venuh,
additional deputy commissioner and executive officer ATC; Dr. Samuel Akho
Konyak P, extra assistant commissioner of Atoizu and Ivuka Z Katty, deputy
chairman of ATC.
- The speakers have stressed the need for active community
participation in maintaining sanitation standards.
- The event concluded with a benediction said by Helibo,
catechist of St. Peter's Church, Atoizu.
- Various stakeholders including GBs, church leaders, PHC
staff and representatives from STL, SUAT and ARSU attended the programme and
reaffirmed their commitment to a cleaner Atoizu.
