officials during the observance of National Road Safety Month in Atoizu town on
Tuesday.
DIMAPUR — Motor
Vehicles Department observed the National Road Safety Month in Atoizu town
under Zunheboto district on Tuesday on theme "Parwaah Karenge, Surakshit
Rahenge" (Will take care to stay safe).
The event, chaired by N Nchumbemo Kikon, AEI of Zunheboto,
began with an invocation prayer said by Rev. Vikuto Katty, pastor of SBAK
(Aizuto), while Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak, extra assistant commissioner (EAC) of
Atoizu, delivered the welcome address.
An update from the department stated that key sessions
included speech on "Road safety awareness" by Akhamba Chang, MVI of
Zunheboto, and a detailed presentation on "Violations and penalties"
by Lanuyanger Ao, MVC of Zunheboto.
It stated that interactive session allowed participants to
share their concerns and seek clarifications.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by
Khehoto Chopy, member of Atoizu Town Council, and a benediction said by Khetoi
Chopy, pastor of NCRC, Atoizu.
The event saw participation of representatives from the
district administration, police, Atoizu Town Council, civil society
organisations, vehicle owners, drivers and local community.
