Dimapur, June 4 (EMN): To acquaint the farmers on latest scientific technologies in agricultural development, ATMA Wokha organized an inter-state farmers exposure tour to ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, in Meghalaya from May 22 to 26.
The tour was led by Deputy Project Directors Yanglen Jami and Subenthung Yanthang along with 10 farmers from all blocks of Wokha district. During the visit, the farmers were exposed to various experimental/ demonstration units viz: horticulture, AITC cell, agricultural engineering, animal production, IFS models, fisheries, NBPGR etc. where explanations and interactions between the scientist and farmers were held.
Farmers were also exposed to important places and stations located within Meghalaya.
In a related programme, ATMA Kohima undertook inter-state exposure tour to Assam from May 22 to 24.
Altogether 15 members visited Sugarcane Research Station at Barulikson and MD Organic Farm, Jorhat, Assam.
