ATMA Niuland organises an exposure tour for farmers to the Nagaland Potato Festival in Jakhama to learn scientific cultivation and agri-trade opportunities.

DIMAPUR — The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) of the Niuland district organised a farmers’ training-cum-exposure tour to the Nagaland Potato Festival 2026 held at the Jakhama village ground in Kohima on May 15.
According to an update, the exposure visit was organised with the objective of enhancing farmers’ knowledge of scientific potato cultivation, agri-trade opportunities, value addition, market linkage, and innovative agricultural practices.
A total of 12 farmers from different villages under the Niuland district, along with five officials and staff from ATMA Niuland, participated in the programme.

The tour provided a platform for the farmers to interact with agricultural experts, progressive farmers, entrepreneurs, and various stakeholders associated with the agriculture and horticulture sectors in Nagaland.
During the exposure visit, the participating farmers and ATMA staff visited various potato and vegetable stalls displayed by different farmers, entrepreneurs, and departments.
The participants observed different potato varieties, locally grown vegetables, value-added products, and innovative agricultural practices showcased during the festival.
