Dimapur, March 5 (EMN): ATMA Niuland Block conducted Kisan Ghosthi programme at Niuland town on February 23, where Demalu Hasnusa, BTM, Niuland Block spoke on the topic “Application methods of micronutrients”.
He said micronutrients are essential for plant growth and play an important role in balanced crop nutrition. A lack of any one of the micronutrients in the soil can limit growth, even when all other nutrients are present in adequate amounts. He also directed farmers on the amount of micronutrient doses to be mixed with water before spraying it directly in fields or on standing crops.
Farmers were also distributed micronutrient packets at the programme chaired by Moakumzuk, ATM, Niuland Block.
Mobilization of Food Security Group (FSG) programme was conducted at Hovishe village on February 25.
During the programme, H.D. Singh, SMS (Horticulture), KVK-ICAR, Jharnapani illustrated on cultivation methods of banana and tree bean to the women farmers. He also highlighted on soil, water and pests management and its economic importance.
FSG group named ‘Topeni FSG,’ consisting of 12 members, engaged banana and tree bean plantation was also formed.
