Dimapur, July 2: Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Mon, conducted training and demonstration programme on June 27 and 29 at Totok Chingha and Chi villages respectively.
Resource persons Moikam T Phom, ATM, and Tenhnyei Phom, ATM, trained the farmers on the seed treatment, disease management and uses of soyabean. Good management practices in organic farming, common pest and disease that cause damage to rice crops and their control measures were also discussed.
Frontline demonstration on integrated pest management in mixed crop farming and biological control of pests and diseases, preparation of field which included plant spacing, row width etc for planting soyabean were also imparted during the training.The resource persons urged the farmers to practice biological methods for control of pest and diseases and also to follow proper post harvest management.
The programme was chaired by Nemchaba Jamir, ATM.
Altogether 58 farmers from Totok Chingha and Chi villages were benefitted from the programme.
