ATMA Mokokchung trains farmers on soil health

- DIMAPUR — A training programme was conducted
by the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Mokokchung,
Chuchuyimlang block, on February 23 at Chakpa village with the aim of promoting
soil health for sustainable farming.
- According to an update, the training began with a brief
introduction by Chubaienla Jamir, ATM of Chuchuyimlang block, on soil health,
its importance, and soil sustainability.
- Resource person Aolemla Kichu, BTM of Chuchuyimlang block,
elaborated on soil testing and its importance. She also highlighted nutrient
management, agroforestry, and various soil conservation methods, such as crop
rotation, the use of biofertilizers, green manuring, mulching, and the use of
cover crops.
- A total of 20 female farmers attended the training
programme. Inputs, such as biofertilizers, were also distributed to the
farmers.
