Dimapur, Feb. 16 (EMN): State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Medziphema organised a two-day training on farm journalism and photography Feb. 15 and 16th for ATMA functionaries to upgrade their skills on farm documentation. Associate professors Dr. KK Jha and Dr. J. Longkumer and audio visual specialist, department of Agricultural, Temjenmenba imparted the training on concept of farm journalism, principles and ethics of farm journalism, role of journalism and mass media, art of writing an article - writing news story and success story, writing for farm publications, creative photography and video techniques, handling camera and shooting in indoor and outdoor locations and do’s and don’ts in photography.
Practical session with hands on experience on handling of cameras, writing of news story and success stories were also conducted followed by presentation of the same.
Special guest for the valedictory function, Dr. Watimongla Jamir, vice principal and in-charge of Bio-Chemistry Lab, IETC, Meziphema, challenged the trainees to write, tell and spread about the latest technologies of agriculture through skilful and innovative writing and photo presentation.
Jamir said farm journalism plays a crucial role in collecting, processing and dissemination of technology to the farmers and eliciting interest and motivation.
