Kohima, Sep. 13 (EMN): The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) is all set to organise the 20th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2019 under the theme, “goal for peace” from September 21 to October 19, at Khuociezie (local ground) in Kohima.

Briefing media persons at the ASU office on Friday in Kohima, Vizokho Zashiimo, the president of ASU informed that around INR 5,30,000 have been set aside for this year’s edition wherein the champions will fetch a sum of INR 2,00,000 while the runners-up team will receive INR 1,20, 000.

The organisers will award the Player of the Tournament with a bike this year instead of the regular scooty.

The two semi-finalists will walk away with INR 30,000 each while the quarter-finalist will receive INR 15,000 each.

The best custodian, best midfielder, best defender, and highest scorer will be awarded INR 10,000 each.

A unique feature of this year’s edition is that there will be 10 bumper draws which will be conducted from the quarter-final round till the final.

The ASU officials have informed interested teams to submit their registration forms on or before September 17.

The organisers have asked all the participating teams to attend the inaugural programme. Team coach, manager or captain have been informed to come along with the players in full uniform and the team’s flag for the oath taking on the inaugural ceremony on September 21 at 1 pm.

The organisers also reminded the team’s officials and captain to attend the technical briefing on September 20, which will begin at 2 pm on the rostrum at the local ground.

Professionally trained referees from outside the state will be conducting the game along with local referees while the ground will be managed by Western Angami Students’ Union during the tournament.

The gallery ticket till the preliminary rounds is priced at INR 30 per head while from quarter-finals till the grand finale, the prize have been fixed at INR 50.

Senior citizens and students in uniforms after class hours will be exempted from buying the tickets. The ASU have also invited all the schools and colleges on the inaugural day while the entry will be free for fans attending the inaugural match.

Unlike last editions where there was conventional team of organising committee to assist the union in organising the tournament, this year the ASU office bearers along with few senior members will take up the responsibility to conduct the trophy.
