Dimapur, August 23 (EMN) : The Angami Students’ Union has on Wednesday resolved to take strict actions on truant students and those involved in various anti social activities both outside and inside educational institutions. The 'Code of Conduct' released by the ASU through its President Visako Rino and General Secretary Vizokho Zhashumo have rules both for the students and also for the various student related service providers and institutions too. The union has resolved to initiate action on students in uniform at local alcoholic joints, cyber cafes and those found loitering during school hours."Any students in uniform who are found taking any intoxicants or any form of abusive substances shall not be tolerated. Such defaulting students if caught or reported and on confirmation of such acts shall be seriously dealt with," stated one of the rules. It has also announced that those students found indulging in any "immoral activities" inside as well as outside the school shall be penalised. Moreover any threat and disrespect to teachers will not be tolerated by the union. The students' union has also taken note of students below the age limit driving vehicles and stated that students below the age of 18 in uniform caught driving will be penalised.It has also warned students against forming gangs and involving in "gang fights" and that it will be seriously dealt with.
