Assisi Centre for Integrated Development marks International Hope Day in Dimapur with 250 participants.

DIMAPUR — Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID), in collaboration with NDWM Child Right Movement, observed International Hope Day at Assisi Auditorium, Dimapur, on the theme, ‘Hope lights the future,’ on Saturday.
In a press release, the centre stated that the event brought together children, parents and well-wishers to reflect on the transformative power of hope and perseverance.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Sr. Jobina Varghese, Director of ACID, who highlighted that Hope Day is observed to promote hope, dignity and protection for children, especially those from vulnerable backgrounds and also to reaffirm the commitment to nurturing hope in every child.
Addressing the gathering chief guest Alomi Sumi, Project Coordinator of Child Help Line (DCPU), Dimapur, delivered a powerful and inspiring message.

She emphasised that hope is the light that guides individual through life’s darkest moments and the power that transforms an ordinary person into extra ordinary person.
Citing the life of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who rose from humble beginning as a newspaper vendor to the President of India, she described him as a testament to the power of dedication, dreams and perseverance.
Alomi urged the children to keep hope alive, remain confident and become the messengers of hope as they are the leaders of today and tomorrow.
Guest speaker Ao Bendang spoke on the responsible use of social media and smart phones among children.
He stated that while today’s phones are smart, users must also act wisely. He highlighted that social media has both advantages and disadvantages. It can be helpful but it can also cause harm if misused.
Addressing the issue of the “generation gap,” Bendang contrasted the experiences of past generation with today’s technology driven lifestyle. He encouraged the children to use technology responsibly and maintain balance in their daily life.
The event featured short cultural presentations and concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Sr. Graceful, Assistant Director of ACID, who urged the children to be “Ambassadors of hope” and advocates for global peace.
The programme was witnessed by 250 participants.
