DIMAPUR — The Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID), in collaboration with the National Domestic Workers Movement, Nagaland Region, commemorated the World Day for Decent Work at the Assisi Auditorium, Lake View Colony, Dimapur on Tuesday.
According to an update, Advocate Priya Shyam, the speaker of the event, in her keynote address on the theme “Decent work an Identity”, highlighted the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Conventions and their relevance to the present context.
She emphasised that no job is insignificant, as every effort contributes to the functioning of communities and nations. She further urged the participants to stand for their rights and work towards creating a more just and equitable society.

Wildlife Week observed at State Botanical Garden in Kohima
The event commenced with a prayer by Asela Sangtam, president of the All Nagaland Domestic Workers Union. In her welcome address, Sr Jobina, director of the Assisi Centre for Integrated Development, highlighted the significance of the day and focused on the need to uphold the dignity of every worker.
The occasion concluded with words of gratitude from Muni Dev and was attended by 145 participants.
