Dimapur, Oct. 21 (EMN): A team of officials of the academic and administrative audit (AAA), of the department of Higher Education is said to have inspected Phek Government College in Phek district on October 20.
The officials were there to assess the college’s performance for the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, a press release from the organisers informed on Sunday.
The ‘inspection team’ comprised its convenor Dr. Ranjan Kumar Behera, Dr. Vitsosie Viiprii, and HK James as members, the updates stated.
During the “session,” the institution’s principal, Dr. Vizovol Mekro, presented an ‘academic report’ of the college1. An interaction with the members followed. Later, ‘presentations’ were made by the eleven departments, the updates said. The press release did not specify what the presentations were. The visitors had separate interactions with non-teaching staffs, alumni and the students’ body during the visit, it was informed.
The assessors inspected various infrastructural facilities at the institution such as a mushroom cultivation unit, a ‘skill centre,’ amphitheatre, a botanical garden, a science laboratory and a library etc., there.
‘The visit came to an end with an exit meeting where the AAA members delivered their observations and assessment of the day,’ the updates added.
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council is an organisation that assesses and accredits higher education Institutions in India. It is an autonomous body funded by the University Grants Commission of Government of India, headquartered in Bangalore.
