Dimapur, May 20 (EMN): The District Mission Authority (SSA) Zunheboto conducted a district-level assessment camp for children with special needs at EBRC hall Zunheboto on May 20. It was organised under Nagaland Education Mission Society, department of School Education.
Deputy Mission Director, Tali Jamir who led the team said that “the main purpose of the assessment camp was to help children with special needs between the age of 6 - 18 years and to provide free check-ups of visually impaired, locomotors disabilities, hearing impairment etc. and to provide free aid/devices to them,” informed an update from DIPR.
He told the gathering on how to use hearing aid and that the US-made device would last long if used “carefully.” He added that “children, whose hands or legs were/are amputated, would receive artificial hands/legs or other kits at the earliest for free.”
A total of 30 children aged between 6 and 18 attended the assessment camp and nine of them received free hearing device.
